From “Best Kept Secret” to “Must See” Attraction

mm-shoot6-700x234Hampton Roads is known for fun in the sun and an array of family attractions, from Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown Settlement to amusement parks and water sports. The area is also home to a dozen museums — among them, the Virginia Living Museum, Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, and Nauticus.

But perhaps the best kept secret in town is the Mariners’ Museum in Newport News. For decades, it has been viewed as a collection of maritime artifacts appealing mostly to veterans and history buffs. What many don’t know is that in recent years the museum has grown to include interactive exhibits, 3D movies, free concerts, and family events and activities that are both fun and educational.

So, the Mariners’ Museum decided to hire Fresh Level Productions to develop a television commercial for a new branding campaign. As part of a branding strategy, we evaluated their marketing goals and target audience to create the right branding message. We worked closely with them to understand their goals, developing a robust script and a memorable tag line, and incorporating high energy and emotionally exciting visuals. All of these elements come together in a commercial targeted specifically for families and distributed through local television marketing.
